A Night of a Thousand Stars celebrates student learning and creativity
Elliott Elementary School in the DoWEA Southeast District welcomed families for its annual Night of a Thousand Stars on April 30, 2026, from 4-6 p.m., transforming the campus into a vibrant showcase of student learning, creativity and growth.
Students guided their families through classrooms and hallways filled with a year’s worth of displayed work, including writing samples, artwork, sculptures and hands-on projects that reflected progress across content areas. Displays often showed the journey from early drafts to finished pieces, allowing families to see the persistence and effort behind each accomplishment.
The evening gave students an active role in sharing their thinking, building confidence as they explained their ideas and reflected on their development. Families asked questions, celebrated successes and gained a clearer view of daily classroom experiences.
Night of a Thousand Stars strengthened school-home connections while highlighting the kind of engaged, capable learners DoWEA aims to develop — young people prepared to contribute thoughtfully to their communities with pride in their work and a sense of civic responsibility.
The event reflected Elliott Elementary’s focus on making learning visible and meaningful. By celebrating student effort, creativity and growth in this way, the school continues to foster confident learners who take ownership of their progress.
