A Note from Dr. K: End of the Year
As we come to the close of another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished together as a school community.
This year has been filled with growth, perseverance, and meaningful learning. From the very first day to now, our students have shown curiosity, resilience, and a true love of learning. Whether they were mastering new reading skills, solving challenging math problems, or building friendships, they have made us proud in so many ways.
To our teachers and staff—your dedication, creativity, and care for our students make all the difference. You have created classrooms where students feel safe, supported, and inspired every single day.
To our families—thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and trust. Your support at home strengthens everything we do at school, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our community.
And to our students—you are the heart of our school. We celebrate your hard work, your kindness, and the progress you have made this year. You have grown not only as learners, but as individuals, and that is something to be proud of.
As we head into summer, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall for another exciting year of learning and growth.

🌟 Be a Part of the School Advisory Committee (SAC) 2026-2027
The School Advisory Committee (SAC) is a vital part of our school community, dedicated to supporting student achievement and strengthening the partnership between families, staff, and school leadership. This committee serves as a collaborative forum where members share ideas, review school initiatives, and provide meaningful feedback to guide continuous improvement efforts.
Participation in SAC is a wonderful opportunity for families to stay informed, share their perspectives, and take an active role in shaping the educational experience at our school. From discussing academic goals and school programs to supporting a positive school climate and culture, SAC reflects our shared commitment to creating a high-quality learning environment for every child.
As we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year, we are actively seeking new members to join the School Advisory Committee. We encourage all families to consider getting involved—your voice truly matters, and your involvement helps strengthen our school community.

Elliott Elementary hosts Night of a Thousand Stars to celebrate student learning and creativity
Elliott Elementary School in the DoDEA Southeast District welcomed families for its annual Night of a Thousand Stars on April 30, 2026, from 4–6 p.m., transforming the campus into a vibrant celebration of student learning, creativity and growth.
During the event, students invited their families into the school to explore a year’s worth of work displayed throughout classrooms and hallways. The building became a gallery of student achievement, featuring writing samples, artwork, sculptures and academic projects that reflected learning across content areas.
Students took an active role in the experience by guiding their families through the displays and sharing the stories behind their work. From early drafts to finished pieces, families were able to see not only final products, but also the growth and progress students made over time. This opportunity allowed students to reflect on their learning while building confidence in their ability to communicate their ideas.
The event highlighted a wide range of student expression. Writing pieces showcased developing voice and structure, artwork reflected creativity and attention to detail, and hands-on projects demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Each display represented the time, effort and persistence students invested throughout the school year.
Night of a Thousand Stars also strengthened the connection between home and school by creating a space where families could engage directly with their child’s learning. Parents and guardians moved alongside students, asking questions, celebrating accomplishments and gaining a clearer understanding of classroom experiences and expectations.
Throughout the evening, the school community came together in a shared sense of pride. The event provided a meaningful opportunity to recognize student effort, highlight academic growth and celebrate the unique strengths of every learner.
By creating opportunities for students to showcase their work and reflect on their progress, Elliott Elementary continues to foster a culture where learning is visible, valued and celebrated. Events like Night of a Thousand Stars support the development of confident learners who take ownership of their growth and feel proud of their accomplishments as they continue their academic journey.
Celebrating Military Children at Elliott Elementary by Jake Paris
At Elliott Elementary, April was filled with energy, pride, and purpose as we celebrated the Month of the Military Child. As a military-connected school, every one of our students brings a unique story shaped by service, sacrifice, and strength. This shared experience creates a strong sense of community and understanding throughout our school.
To celebrate, our Military Family Life Counselor, Mr. Jake, set up an exciting obstacle course that symbolized the resilience, collaboration, and determination students demonstrate every day. Each station represented challenges that mirror the realities of military life—frequent moves, new environments, and the need to be adaptable in changing circumstances. With enthusiasm and perseverance, our students tackled each obstacle, showing teamwork, courage, and an unwavering spirit.
At Elliott Elementary, we are committed to fostering resilience and creating a supportive environment where students feel connected, understood, and empowered to succeed. Events like this obstacle course not only sparks joy but also highlight the strength and character that define our students and our school. Special thanks to Mr. Jake for his continued dedication to our school community. His support for students and families—whether helping navigate transitions, offering encouragement, or creating meaningful events like the obstacle course challenge—makes a lasting impact. His work ensures every student feels supported both inside and outside the classroom.
Even though Month of the Military Child is over, we will continue to celebrate the perseverance and determination of all Elliott Elementary students. We are proud to be a school where every child is part of a military family and where their strength inspires us each and every day.

📚 Elliott Elementary Celebrates March Reading Challenge Winners
Elliott Elementary students showed an incredible commitment to reading during the March Reading Challenge, with classes and individual students going above and beyond to grow as readers. This school-wide initiative encouraged students to build strong reading habits while fostering a love for books—and the results were outstanding.
Across grade levels, classrooms competed to log the highest number of books read, demonstrating both enthusiasm and perseverance. Congratulations to our class winners:
