Brian J. Perry, Community Superintendent for the South Carolina - Fort Stewart Community, is pleased to announce that Dr. Jacquelyn Koenig will join Elliott Elementary School as its new principal, effective March 17, 2025.
“Dr. Koenig’s leadership experience and knowledge of instructional best practices will be a tremendous asset to our students and teachers,” said Perry. “We are excited to welcome her to the Elliott Elementary family.”
Currently serving as Assistant Principal at the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Vilseck High School in Germany, Koenig brings over 20 years of experience in education. She is passionate about fostering academic excellence, collaboration, and student success.
Koenig began her career in a remote Alaskan village, teaching grades 7-12 and leading adult literacy programs. Over the years, she has worked as an innovation specialist and educator in Texas and Missouri, focusing on strategies to enhance learning for students of all ages. Her tenure with DoDEA has showcased her dedication to education, from teaching science and math to middle and high school students to excelling in leadership and administrative roles.
Among her many achievements, Koenig was the recipient of the 2009 Excellence in Science Education Award, the 2010 LaMonte R-IV Teacher of the Year, and named the 2018 Volunteer of Excellence in Texas. She has earned multiple Teacher of the Year honors and was a 2023 DoDEA Europe West Teacher of the Year nominee, as well as the recipient of the 2016 Spangdahlem Angel Award.

As principal, Koenig is committed to partnering with students, staff, and families to uphold and enhance the school’s world-class educational experience. She looks forward to fostering meaningful connections and empowering every student to achieve their fullest potential.
